There is everything! for sets

Wow! What a comprehensive set. My pandemic-inspired hobby was embroidery, and now that I've made a few kits, I'm ready to make my own freehand drawings. This kit is great to get me started. None of the components are of high quality, but for people like me who just play around and experiment, they will do. First off, I really like the selection of wooden hoops. I wish they were plastic as they tend to be easier to work with, but wood looks more decorative when it comes time to show off your designs. With all these sizes, I also have a lot of options. The fabric that comes with the kit appears to be designed for cross stitch (I've never used anything like it), as are the thick, big-eyed, relatively blunt needles. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be using any of these components, although the needles come in a handy clear tube which I can use with some of the needles I already have. I found two types of needle threaders interesting - the flower-shaped style, which I'm familiar with, but the metal hooks, which I didn't like. They work with both the big-eye needles that come with the kit and the regular needles I use (I've tested both). It would be nice to have a different needle threader design and hopefully they don't fall apart as quickly as the other style. including seam ripper, tape measure, needle set and needle pad. The pins and needle pad feel a little substandard (I actually threw the pad away immediately as it's cheap fabric over some sort of foam with a texture I want to grit my teeth on). I already have items like a thimble with gold ring and thread cutter, but it would be nice to have a spare. I love the water soluble pen set! The set includes 5 color cartridges and a pen holder so they can be swapped out. They each have a thin metal tip and can be easily closed after use so that they do not dry out. I checked the purple on the fabric - I just made a square and tried to wash it off. Washed out about 90%, and after leaving a damp cloth for a while the residue also dissolved. I did notice a small purple ring around the edge of the watermark after the fabric dried, so next time I may try using a bit of dish soap to make sure it comes out completely. Overall, however, I am satisfied with the quality of these pens and the variety of colors. Speaking of colors, you also get a whole rainbow of embroidery thread colors! Such a great choice; didn't seem to be missing anything. Saves me the trouble of finding and selecting a major craft store. Combined with my leftovers from previous kits, I'm definitely ready to start my own projects. Overall I would give this set a pretty high rating just for the amount it contains. However, I am deducting a star for parts that are unsuitable for me and other embroiderers, such as fabric and needles, and the poor quality of some other components. It definitely suits my needs, but I don't know if I would give it as a gift.

Pros
  • Practical accessories and easy to use: 3-part. 14CT Aida has a precision square weave with visible sewing holes, making this fabric comfortable to use and allowing your needle to slide through the holes with ease. The water-soluble pens come with 5-color inks that match different fabric colors. Perfect for marking/writing/designing whatever you like on fabric.
