Review on Highly Efficient Targus Wireless Presenter Laser Pointer for Professional Presentations: Bluetooth Enabled Control (AMP16US-52) by Daniel Spear

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Significantly inferior to the last

I have edited this review because I have been using the new one for 4 weeks now and it is significantly inferior to the previous one. I was thrilled that it had a locking feature when I ordered it. When it arrived it turned out to only block it so you can only use the clicker without the laser pointer. That's all well and good, but it needs to be able to lock when it's off so it doesn't drain the battery. I liked the new laser pointer and new button to turn off the screen. However, one of the nice things about the old version was that it worked on both Mac and PC. I have a Mac for personal use, but the university I teach at has all the computers. The new one works on both. You have to toggle the button to choose between them though, and when I use it on PC it jumps forward more than once when I press the button. The worst part was changing the battery compartment. The old version had a place for a "spare battery" where I carried the battery when I wasn't using the device because I keep it in my bag with my books and computer and it tends to click and click pretty easily to discharge. Battery. This compartment was removed in the new one. I was hoping that turning the device on would require more effort so the battery wouldn't drain as quickly, but I was disappointed to find that wasn't the case. While the previous version allowed my battery to last over 9 months, this version drained my battery in less than 4 weeks. A real disappointment for the price.
