The candle must be smelled in person to ensure it is exactly what you expect the scent to be.
I bought this thinking I'd have a faint pine scent of real wood in my house for Christmas. There were so many rave reviews and Yankee candles have a good reputation that I didn't think I could be wrong. While my husband is sensitive to smells, he was right about that - he didn't have that fresh needle smell. It reminded me of the old car air fresheners that people used to hang on their rearview mirrors. It's too strong - and not at all the smooth pine aroma I was expecting. I gave it to a friend who wanted to try it and told her to donate if she didn't like the smell.
