This SAE plug looks like a great DC socket overall. My use case was to replace my kids who have to take the batteries out of their electric cars when they need to be charged. Having several battery tenders with SAE connectors, this product worked for me. The kids love it and get that electric car feeling and the convenience of charging their cars and getting them back on the road. Pros - Sturdy construction, durable cap/waterproof cap. The wiring is well insulated. It is 14AWG and pre-tinned for soldering. Screws included, good quality. The connection fit is snug and charges well. Cons/Notes - I didn't notice any bugs with the install, but here are a few things to note. The wire was about 6 inches long so make sure you know how long you need or be prepared to lengthen it. The bottom of the mount is not flat but has a round base that is smaller than the outer ring. Design for waterproof but should be considered when trimming to allow for a flush fit.
