USB ZINGYOU Computer/Gaming Mic. Excellent Value, Solid Product.

I've worked with many Very expensive, high quality mics in my time so keep in mind that this kit cost around $20 ! My expectations are adjusted accordingly:- Nice assortment of equipment; small stand, shock mount, Pop-screen and a generous cable. There's even a better than average manual. Sound from the mic was very pleasing; a lot less of the shrill/papery Top that is normal on cheaper electret condensers and a deeper bass than I've come to expect. In fact without the shock mount it would pick up a lot of rumble. It's not too prone to 'popping' but the screen does improve things. It is, as claimed, a Cardioid with reasonable rejection to the rear in the Mids and Highs but less so in the Bass. The volume control on the base changes the MIC output, NOT the headphones (as I've seen suggested). I found that with it 'backed-off' from full by one or two "flips" gave a good level on Zoom, Skype etc. with no distortion. Plugging in headphones (on the base) let me hear my own voice with no delays and the 'Return/Audio out' side of the PC allowing you to hear the other On-Line participants. Or to scratch that Karaoke Itch, if you've a mind to. The whole thing feels pretty durable but treat it kindly, it's a microphone not a monkey wrench! The shock mount will screw onto most standard thread Mic Stands. A little experimentation with the settings should give you the results you need. I recommend getting a little 'in-line' headphone volume control (if yours don't have it already). It'll cut down your on screen tweaking.
