Use with caution on Windows systems

The warning on the box not to play track 2 is critical. Unfortunately, the first time I used it, I wanted to clean my CD/DVD reader on a Windows machine. When I put the disc in, it picked up the brain dead Windows Media Center and started playing happily. Since I never use this app, I didn't see how I couldn't get track 2 playing fast enough - there's absolutely no pause between "clean up done" and "now skip to track 3". The noise was awful and it looks like it destroyed the little brushes. This is so important that it would be nice if the nice lady praising the product on track 1 warned you to take a break and make sure to skip track 2 before continuing. Good news: DVDs are now being registered in my laptop, which was not the case before, and it looks like the drive isn't affected either. The bad news: the cleaning brushes broke and the disc was worthless for its other purpose, a CD player (with handy, uncluttered buttons for quickly skipping to track 3). ) where the jump problem persisted after launch, presumably due to destroyed brushes. Solution on my system (close the barn door to make sure the horse doesn't stray back in): launch iTunes before inserting the CD as if it starts with a checklist of tracks to play instead of just launching and you can use the Disable track 2. I had to work it out beforehand through rehearsals with a regular audio CD.

Pros
  • Eight brush system removes static, prevents cracking
