I have been using a plastic coated carbon filter system for a very long time. I've always hated that plastic filters can't be recycled. These charcoal sticks are so easy to use and I can compost when they stop filtering! The water tastes just as good, maybe even better, since I keep the water in a glass container instead of a plastic jug. My glass jar is a little smaller than this wand can handle, but that's what I had. The sticks are slightly more expensive than the plastic filters that I can buy locally at the wholesale club. Now all I need is a bigger glass jar, but that was my plan.
