Great starter pack! This was my first clipper and it was a great product for a beginner as it came with everything you need right from the start. I really like the quilting ruler, it's so handy to have a larger ruler than my regular sewing ruler (without having to take out a ruler). The rotating knife takes some getting used to. I bought mine used from Revain and the blade in the tool was already dull so I had to replace it. But there were 5 spare parts in the kit, they were all sharp and worked great. I love that the extra blades come in a small plastic case making them safe and easy to store. I LOVE the cutting mat. I know there are larger mats out there and I've thought about getting one, but I use an IKEA desk as my sewing table so it's not as big as regular sewing tables so 2 x 3 inches is perfect. It's big enough that I can lay most things flat. Plenty of room to cut squares. I can lay out a bodice or shirt with plenty of room. I can wear shorts and mini/midi skirts. However, with pants and long skirts, I can usually lay out 3/4 of a garment before having to reposition it. It is very viscous and self-healing. I love that it's black and green so I put it black side up on my black table. Bottom and left are imperial units while top and right are metric units. Both sides have a 1/2 inch grid and 30°, 45° and 60° cutting lines, which is very convenient for non-measurement users.
