I've been keen on embroidery lately. And I could find my old tires, so I started looking. First I ordered a basic set made of wood. I sent them back though because there were little fragments everywhere that kept tearing my fabric. So I went back to Amazon and found these plastic hoops. I thought that would solve the problem. And it is. no more tearing my expensive fabrics. That's great. However, I find it very difficult to keep the fabric inside. It seems that the fabric slips because they are strong. I've tightened them so much that the pliers literally can't tighten them anymore and they still slip. Now I wrap the fabric around the hoop and then pin the fabric all the way around the other side. There is still movement. So I wouldn't recommend them. But then again, as my title suggests, they're not the worst I've had to deal with. At least it won't distort the fabrics!
