- The screen is certainly better, but with M1 Air there is almost no difference. Only large areas of black on the screen are blacker. - There may simply not be any specific software for M1 yet. Those who buy a laptop for professional purposes will have one or two such softins. - The speakers are made to impress when listening in a store, if you listen to human speech through them - it is immediately noticeable that the speakers have a booming bass that overlaps everything else. It's like listening to a speech through a wall. - It's a great laptop! It should be a pleasure to take it with you somewhere and work on it outside the home, but it will not replace a PC with x86 - More video cores than on M1, but there were no more games from this. - I would like to put Windows on it. At some point, Macos stopped adding features for professionals (For example, how can we work effectively with 4 windows on one screen?) And Windows just became more convenient for this. And Macbook drivers for Windows usually work the best, even better than MS itself on Surface. To summarize, version 14 instead of 13 should only be taken if: - Ordinary M1 is indispensable - You need more than 16GB of RAM and swap will not replace it - Need to connect 2 monitors In other cases, justifying the $400-600 difference by no means will work - the screen, microphone, camera, speakers in total are not so much better. In short: if one is given out at work, then excellent, you need to take it. If for your money - it is very worth seeing if you can manage with air.
