Got this because one of the burners was left without a flame overnight. The house was flooded with gas, but I found out it's not toxic - it's still dangerous. It can thin the air you breathe, which is bad. And it's also explosive, but rarely. I plugged this into an outlet about 3 feet from the burners. I did a test by accelerating and waiting. I think it only took a minute for the display to register 1 and then the alarm went off a few moments later. I was pleased. He has since found the flame going out or accidentally turning on. I don't really like the big red LED segment display. Do you remember the old alarm clocks? Yes. I have no idea about the durability.
