When I tried these Garden of Life bars, I expected a chalky pea flavor and the usual hard, sticky toffee consistency that sticks to your teeth like most bars. Well, to my surprise, these bars turned out to be nothing like that! They are very very good, the texture is like a dense cake, the taste is the same as I get at the health food store, mainly carob which I have always loved. They're just sweet enough, naturally, not gooey artificial due to the sweetness, and there's no bad aftertaste. I don't have to carry a toothbrush with me to get the black crap off my teeth like most bars do. They have a very thin chocolate coating that can melt a bit when you carry them around but there is very little of it, they travel pretty well without much mess. These are small handlebars and feel heavy in hand. I found them quite satisfactory. Great for late night sweet cravings without a lot of sugar at just 8g and a good 20g of protein and even 10g of fibre! I also eat them for breakfast and afternoon snacks. I still can't believe the first 2 ingredients are tapioca and organic pea protein but they taste really good! They're also soy, gluten, and dairy free, if that's important to you. This will be my new bar, great ingredients that are organic and great taste win! If you like the taste of carob, you will love these bars.
