This was our second splint and the one that worked. It is durable because there is a strap that goes through the entire box spring to the other side and is fixed. It's slim and easy on the eyes, almost invisible on our bed when folded (and folds easily. Some of them are too long and you should be able to press two buttons on opposite sides, which is impossible is if you have ridiculously long arms). My only complaint is that there is still a small gap between the mesh and the mattress, but I think this will happen with all rails and memory king mattresses. I put the pillow in the slot but my baby is bigger and older and my arm is over him so I don't worry it's usually a foot from the railing anyway. I absolutely wouldn't use it with a small child who could roll around in it, but I think it's an extra layer of protection to keep a mobile child from rolling out of bed.
