I bought this modem after upgrading my internet service to 1 gigabit internet through Xfinity , which is designed for a maximum speed of approx. 970 MBit down. From the first boot of the modem I only got about 300 Mbps down and about 30 Mbps up. The maximum I've ever seen was 477.97 Mbps downstream and 41.77 Mbps downstream traffic, recorded at 1:44 AM CST on July 4th, when traffic over the general internet connection was at its lowest was. Finally, I was able to confirm through numerous Netgear that this is a known issue. Support forum posts about slow internet specific to this modem model (applicable to all NETGEAR CM1000 series modems). There is currently no documented solution. I even tried manually changing the initial sample rate in the modem settings, but this didn't change the recorded speeds.
