I LOVE the weightlessness of this fabric! I'm used to heavy material that can hardly be moved to the side. This fabric is so light and silky that I can push it aside or button it up with little effort. It's great at blocking light, it's not completely dark because you can see how direct sunlight wants to shine through. I have mine in my living room, but if you hang it in a window with no direct light, you'll likely end up in total darkness. Although it's exactly what I wanted. I think it also protects against the heat, but it's hard to say because this summer has been incredibly hot! However, I am very happy with this purchase!
