The velcro on the straps is good quality, doesn't cause loose stands or fuzziness like with some velcro. I do think if the velcro on the straps was thinner more notebook sizes would be compatible. Having two pockets for pens is nice. The one behind is for longer pens, even a tombow brush pen (yellow) doesn't seem like it will slip out. You obviously can't put pens on top of each other in the pockets, though.It came with a gift tag, which is nice, but probably won't be used even by those buying this as a gift. Most people don't open the gifts they're giving someone before giving it to them. It could probably be used as a "return to" tag but most people write that inside of their notebooks.There's a side pocket that I wouldn't trust with anything you want to keep. It doesn't have zippers or even snaps to keep it secure. Seems pointless
