I live alone and bought this to replace the stand my monitor came with. It took 45 minutes to assemble, and I spent most of my time attaching the heavy base to the support post. First, it's obvious that the parts were painted after we drilled the screw holes, so you'll need to thread the screws through the post holes before attempting to put them together; Second, the base has a recess that holds the stand, making it difficult to see the screw alignment holes to screw it in. Third, due to the heavy base (which provides really good strength), it's very difficult to keep the base on the post. If I had known these things I would not have been so sure I would have bought this item.
