Bought these for general firearm cleaning and maintenance and they are good but not very durable. down the guide grooves before brushing. The solvent needs to break down either the foam or the glue holding it to the pen to allow the tips to slide off easily. They don't do well for brushing, but work well if you use them in a sweeping motion. They are lint free and very cheap, but a minimum of 5-6 is required for proper field level cleaning. Like I said, we're talking pennies, so it doesn't matter.
