Great solution for colder water. We used a fridge that didn't have a cold water dispenser instead of the upgrade. The unit fitted perfectly under the sink and I hooked it up to an instant hot/cold faucet. Now we've filtered out the heat and cold coming out of the tap. We also have a whole house filter at the main water inlet that does this double filtration. The alternative to a Thermador cold water freezer costs about $6,000. The math is obvious, and even if the block doesn't last forever, the cost justifies replacing it over and over again when the need arises. Some other blocks say they are hot. The plumber who installed this unit was very happy when he came and saw Franke, who he says has a good track record. I didn't need a plumber for the installation unless he was already in the house for another renovation/upgrade. The water does not "freeze" but it is cold when needed instead of running the faucet for 2-3 minutes. Hot water circulation pump for the whole house, so hot water usually comes from the tap. This device solves that problem, so at least I have cold water on demand in the main sink in the kitchen. Finally, I manage power with a Wi-Fi switch, so the device stays idle day and night when I'm not at home. doesn't like cold water, but the rest of the family does. Happy family. One and done.
