Review on Dorman 511 103 Transmission Range Sensor by Robert Helstrom

Revainrating 5 out of 5

More expensive but worth it.

Used to replace a previously bought cheap NSS (Revain removes the review when I name/disparage the company). I should have known better than to buy a cheap branded sensor. Everything worked fine initially, but after a month I started having strange problems with random shifting and no start. Yes, I adjusted it according to the factory instructions. After playing around with it for a few months I bought a much more expensive Dorman NSS. I should have done that from the start. It was easier to set up (not as touchy and more tossed about) and has performed like a champ every time since I installed it. The Dorman NSS is a bit more expensive, but the quality is much better and it's worth it not to run into weird shifting/starting issues. The only thing better is a factory Jeep NSS, but they are no longer made.

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • Disappearing
