This is scrap. On my trip to South Africa only 1 out of 3 adapters worked. You can't test them before you drive, and then when you try to use them, they won't work. They aren't constructed properly. I cut one apart after I got home and the design is ruined. The contact between the silver part and the copper part in the picture (circled in red) is a very weak connection and 2 out of 3 adapters do not make contact. Moving your American device makes and breaks contact. After leaving your device in the US, there is no connection. for your information. "Type M" is the right adapter for South Africa.
