First off, the scents are fair (4 out of 5?). I used to buy real lilac essential oil and it smells like a harsh bath and body fake in comparison; However, the other two are less offensive, albeit artificial. Now to their marketing. Of course, I should have studied the details page better, but the company should have known better than to use the terms "essential oils" and "flavoring oils" interchangeably. While the front of the box clearly says "essential oils," the ingredients list says "fragrance," meaning lots of cheap chemicals were added to create the scent, rather than the unrefined essential oils that more informed consumers are specifically looking for - so it was a blatant false advertisement. They also mention that they don't specifically use phthalates (which cause hormonal disruption) in their fragrance oils, but since the former are usually an integral part of the latter, I'm not inclined to believe them. The sad thing is I'd probably buy them again just because I LOVE them, but given the questionable length that this company seems to have bothered to appear "trendy" and "natural," I'm overly excited to continue bad support business practices.
