Appears to be high quality foreign nuts - well formed threads etc. I restore old British cars and one thing you always need is 5/16-24 nuts. shouldn't be a problem: I've used two of these and the usual method to remove a whole bunch of studs from a Jag cylinder head - so much fiddling and tightening/loosening. Well when I was done the chromate yellow was gone. They just look like regular zinc plated nuts. I don't know if this is normal for yellow chromated hardware as I don't usually tighten or loosen it dozens of times. I've never experienced that in this type of reporting, but like I said, it was an unusual situation. Time will tell if the coating will hold up well.
