This set is much better insulated than regular fabric mittens. Still, they're less bulky than the ones I bought, so they fit better in a desk drawer. The light color looks good in my kitchen. I've labeled them "easy to clean" because the pattern of raised stripes creates small "valleys" that need to be cleaned one at a time. It's not a big deal - I've used them dozens of times and only had to clean them once. Update: After about three months of use, I accidentally hit the burner when removing the pan. The silicone strips have melted. A few months later I notice that the pot holder has melted too. They look terrible but are still functional. I'm actually buying a new set, I'll just be very careful not to get super hot stuff. (Note: Melting has never been an issue when taking food out of the oven. However, I've never used it with a roaster so I don't know if it will hold up.)
