The microphone is fully adjustable and can be moved up and down when not in use, but it's also flexible so you can find the position where you're most comfortable speaking and getting the best sound. The cable is sufficient and you have enough freedom of movement at your workplace. My mother loved this headset; it was badly needed to ease their working lives. It was easy for them to connect and start using. Call quality on her end is good, and after adjusting her mic if necessary, the audio from both ends was clear.
