We bought a used IPF760 for quite a bit of money knowing that the price they were selling it for probably wasn't 'in perfect condition' , when they stopped using . During the initial setup, we discovered that the printer had a "printhead failure" and needed to be replaced. Since printheads range from $350 to $450 depending on whether you're willing to take the risk of buying from an unauthorized Canon dealer, we decided to give it a try. We checked out a video we found online and initially thought it was done when one of the nozzles became visibly clogged after a long overnight soak (the rubber seal was compared to the liquid being squeezed out of the nozzle , got bigger). We left the liquid in for 5-6 hours trying to force it through and it worked. The material cleared the clog and saved us an expensive new print head. Obviously this is a spare part and one day we will have to replace this product but so far we are happy. The downside is that the product is only good for 1 try. In theory that's enough and the cost is still worth it but if you've read about these printhead problems it's due to the infrequent use of large format printers and in our shop that's probably the case so I wouldn't be surprised if we bought more have to. In the meantime we will try to make test prints at least regularly.
