They work and are an 8 inch size smaller. We have pans, egg pans and casseroles ranging from single 2.5" aluminum/teflon egg pans to 12" carbon steel pans. The smallest pan that needs a splash guard. is a 5 inch cast iron skillet. We've tried silicone splash guards, but they don't allow water vapor to escape easily, so they dampen food. I will come back to this review in 6-12 months.
