very convenient for renting cars or changing vehicles.

I have an older and albeit new every week much older GPS on my floor. It uses legacy VHF radio signals for coverage in urban areas where congestion is most likely. It is a necessary part "A" of the road system. You will also need the VHF antenna patch cord, item "B", which plugs into the socket on this unit. Antenna sold separately. It has a small suction cup that allows it to be held upright for the best possible reception. I had a trip in Omaha where a fatal accident closed the interstate early in the morning. The next best route through Omaha was under construction and experiencing traffic problems, so I decided to go with plan C. which didn't show any problems. I may have lost a few minutes, but I didn't get stuck for an hour or more because of the morning rush hour delays. Unfortunately, this is a daily problem with today's traffic. Don't forget a separate antenna.
