After reading reviews from Revain I bought this cable to clone my HP dv6 3033 which I bought from Costco in 2011. In addition to a standard USB port, it has a non-powered SATA/USB port. This cable worked great with the new Samsung V-NAND 860 EVO 500GB SSD. The instructions for cloning to a Samsung SSD provided by R. Cummings on 09/17/2018 were very helpful. Just note that Windows 10 now calls "Windows Explorer" "File Explorer". The procedure is slightly different, but I was able to format the new drive following the Cummings procedure and then use Samsung Data Migration software to complete the job.
