Thank you to this company for putting up a label telling the buyer/user that the fabric is not flame retardant. This is a good product in many ways. Processing and assembly are excellent. However, I bought this robe for an elderly person and after trimming the hem to trim it, I noticed the fire warning and decided to test the piece of fabric. Contact with a lit match will ignite this substance too quickly. Cotton and linen pieces tested for comparison burned and charred, turning into flakes of coal without igniting. The elderly gentleman who was supposed to get this bathrobe still sometimes makes himself tea by heating water in a kettle on a gas stove. The sleeve of this robe will be too close to the open fire for him not to get it. This is a good company with good designs and colors. If they offered these models in bamboo or cotton flannel, I would buy their clothes.
