After losing $5,000 in electronics to a lightning strike, I finally woke up to find that every outlet in my house needed a surge protector. These units are on the higher side of the price but worth the quiet. I have them on my fridge, washing machine, all televisions, dishwashers, electric gates and home intercom power supply. The advantage of these devices is that they sit flat against the wall and have two sockets on the side, so that bulky plugs do not take up space in the front. Highly recommended for areas where surge protection tape is not required or not possible.
