You should be lucky with the color. The fabric may fray.
We haven't adjusted the color of our sofa, but actually it's nobody's fault. For this you have to do your best. However, this stopped the hole from growing and the glue reinforced it. Our dog tried to peel it off while the glue was fresh and still dry but left it completely after a few days. My only real complaint is that a few threads got lost. A small pair of scissors or a lighter is good for snipping or for a quick snip of thread (don't be stupid, at your own risk). Much luck. I hope you can afford a new sofa soon.
