The price and design of this version of the 3rd generation Echo Dot bracket appealed to me. I thought the clips on the front would hold the Dot in place better. It seems the audio is a little muffled, but it's not terrible. There's a lot of plastic around the edges of the speaker, but I bought it for our third point the kids are moving from room to room and I needed something to keep everything safe and tidy. The correct way is to secure it and still connect the plug. I ended up plugging the connector into the Dot and wrapping the cable backwards until I could get the connector into that part of the case. I had to disassemble it to put an end to this. It seems to me that if I had to take the Dot off and put it back on, the clips could break because they're so stiff. This works for what I need, but I won't be buying this style for our other two Dots.
