The only way to load a bottle into the machine without spilling water is to remove the cone holding the bottle, shut it over the bottle and then push down on the cone to the bottle, gently place the bottle and cone on the device. Ideally, this requires two people to prevent leakage. Another method that seems to work is to cover the bottle with tinfoil and secure it with a rubber band, then stand the bottle on the cone that sits on top of the device. The central stick pierces the tinfoil and the water flows freely into the tank without spilling. I have called the company 4 times and am still waiting for a call back. I wonder if they have a device to put the bottle on top so it looks like tin foil. The company is totally unresponsive. The device appears to work well when the bottle is installed correctly. But I would not recommend this product. As others have pointed out, you get what you pay for.
