If you just need a sturdy tripod to hold your camera 5-6 inches off the table then this is a good option. I bought this tripod because it comes with an extension that fits between the legs and the ball head. I needed a 14 inch extension and this fitted just right. Unfortunately, the extension cord is very wobbly. No matter how tight you screw it to the base, there's a lot of give and therefore your camera will shake. around. Indoors, it is normal if there is no vibration anywhere. I would never use it with an extension cord outdoors as it will move with any slight breeze.
