I've been using them for over 10 years as all-season hiking and cross-country skiing gloves. They are consistently warmer than any of my other "winter" ski gloves with a more durable construction. That doesn't mean these gloves are poorly made. They hold up very well and I've never had any problems with them. My friends are amazed that I can wear them all winter and my fingers are almost always warm. I carry another pair of gloves in my backpack in case we get pre-teen chills, but they seem to do well into our mid-20s, which is pretty typical mountain weather in the high country Cascades. I bought my first gloves. Couple spring skiing in Squaw Valley. I have since used them on winter ski trips to Mount Rainier, Whistler and other local ski areas near Seattle. Once I found them to work well in wintry conditions, they became my go-to ski gloves. They are very easy to put on and take off, are lightweight and work well with zips and snaps on backpacks, boots and bindings. They also breathe well, you could even say they are actually "soft" gloves. They do not hinder movement and ensure excellent blood circulation. While not waterproof, they are highly waterproof and allow moisture to wick from your hands to the outer layer, keeping your hands warm and comfortable. I rarely have to swap out the gloves for a dry pair during lunch breaks as they absorb moisture very well. Water repellent (which I always have on hand with softshell jackets and pants) then I let them air dry overnight. That's all you need to keep them clean and fresh. You can hold goatskin palms treated with Kiwi Camp Dry Mink Oil or any other leather conditioner and they will not crack or dry out and will last for years. I can't say enough good things about these gloves - I'd happily buy another pair when they're done.
