I use a flash drive to store most of the applications I use on my PC so I can easily switch between computers. I started with a brand name 8GB mini stick and after a few years of emailing I ran out of space so I upgraded to a full size 32GB flash drive with no issues performance changed. I wanted a mini device to avoid possible accidental damage to the device or laptop as the drive sticks out and can easily get caught on clothing or furniture. So I picked up two packs of these GigaSTONE 64GB devices (emphasis on STONE). Transferring <8GB to my existing drive took 2.5 hours as the write speeds dropped drastically. Attempts to start my portable email program were unsuccessful. Pushing emails took forever, deleting a single email took more than 30 seconds, and it was just impossible to launch applications. I downloaded a free USB speed test and from a reasonable speed it eventually dropped to an unusable speed. Now I stick to well-known brands
