it's a little tricky to put the food in the bowl - you obviously can't just dump the food in it, but spread it around into all the nooks and such. However, it has slowed my doggo's eating.normally I'd drop her food in her bowl walk to the other room drop her sister's food in her bowl and walk back and she'd be done. Then she would be burping and gagging afterwards. She was NOT a fan of the bowl at first, but now she tackles it with single minded determination to finish her food.she's faster then when we first started using the bowl, but still slower then before.
