will not hold a bike when attached to a seatpost

The rack will not hold a bike attached to a seatpost, even bikes that weigh less than 20 pounds. The arm just rotates underneath. Weight. So if you have an old bike with the cables routed under the top tube, you won't be able to use the brake/shift adjuster stand. I would like to return it, but it's too late.
