Review on Protective Power: Venum 'Kontact' Shin and Instep Guards for Maximum Defense by Brandon Bullard

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Suitable for infrequent or light sparring

I ordered these shin guards for my husband. He mainly practices BJJ but occasionally takes part in Muay Thai classes. I wanted to buy him shin guards but nothing too expensive as he doesn't MT all the time. In terms of price, they meet the requirements. Keep in mind that these pads are definitely for light sparring only. If you want stronger shin pads I would go to the Hayabusa. This is the brand I use and they are very well maintained but they are way more expensive. In my photos I'm wearing these shin guards - they're a little big for me but then again I bought them for my husband so they should fit him. For reference, I'm only 5 feet tall, but I have very large calves.
