Overview + Flow Restrictor Removal Instructions

Excellent shower head. It has good flow and spreads water over a larger area without losing flow. I used this shower head for a week before removing the flow restrictor. When the restrictor is removed, the flow is much stronger. Even with the restrictor installed, the flow at this nozzle is pretty good. To remove the shower head, follow these steps (they won't make much sense until you get started) 1) Remove the filter with needle nose pliers (save this as you'll insert it later) You'll see a green flow restrictor with it a black o-ring. 2) Break off the green tabs holding the o-ring in place (all the green part will come out so don't worry about banging it a bit) 3) Pry the o-ring with one pliers out. Now all you have left is the green flow restrictor. I've been playing around with the steps below for a while and once I found a method that worked for me I thought I'd share it. I used a thin, sharp kitchen knife for the following steps. Took me about 20 minutes as I didn't really know what I was doing. If I had to do it all over again, it would probably only take about 5-10 minutes. 4) Using a sharp, thin knife, cut the green limiter in a circle (the same circle used to be the O-ring). There is clearance between the plug and the body of the shower head so you can cut the plug and not get in the way of the knife point on the other side of the plug. Use needle nose pliers to remove the circle you just cut off. What remains is a green ring on the edge of the tap. 5) Place the knife on the outside edge of the remaining green ring (between the ring and the metal edge of the faucet) and wiggle to loosen the green ring on the faucet side. .6) Cut a line through the green ring that is now unglued to the side. 7) Cut another line next to the line you just cut so you can remove a small piece of the green ring. After I cut two lines, a small piece popped out. This will loosen things up and make the next step easier. 8) Use a knife and wedge between the ring and the side of the faucet to loosen the remaining piece. 9) Take the last piece of green plug with pliers. 10) Push the filter back in by hand. Don't push too hard or it will go too far into the joint and you'll have to grab it with pliers. A NOTICE. Steps 4 through 8 are easier said than done. Don't be afraid to get aggressive, as that part of the connection to the shower head is just for connecting (in other words, you're not wrapping threads or anything). I hope this helps, I tried to be detailed knowing it would save me time if I could get this information before I started.
