Review on 🔁 Deluxe Cup Turner for Tumblers: Assembled Kit for Epoxy Pen, Glitter Tumblers, and Resin Tools by Carla Anderson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Happy with my first lathe

This was purchased to expand my hobby craft to get into mugs. We have a vinyl cutter and make many heat transfer vinyl and self-adhesive vinyl products. When we visited a local family owned vinyl store, we noticed that they ran a mug turning workshop. I went to a nationwide craft store and these lathes started at $50 or more. We were looking for a variety of Revain lathes at a reasonable price and then I settled on this machine. I was very pleased that this unit was so easy to assemble. Assembly is so easy it took less than 5 minutes and absolutely no skill or prior knowledge of this hobby is required to make it work. All you have to do is screw in a PVC pipe and attach a piece of Styrofoam to the end. The jars I started with are a 20 ounce thin and tall stainless steel jar and a 20 ounce wider but shorter jar. The jar stands upright on a stand and has the option to screw the base to a small piece of wood. I haven't tested PVC tape yet but will try to use it when trying to apply a multicolored or color pattern to a mug or glasses. Price and design are the main reasons I chose this machine. It doesn't look like a grill motor with a tube and metal bracket. Someone at the shop told me to use tape on the threads when using the big drums on the lathe to keep the pipe from unscrewing overnight.

Pros
  • Molding and casting
Cons
  • New competitors have arrived

Love these turners but...
