Great for relaxing muscles

I recently bought this for my dad for fathers day after drinking it for a few years. This thing looks like a torture device, and it might seem like it at first glance, but once you learn how to use it you'll love it, and if you're like me, cut down on Tylenol, Aleve, and other painkillers a lot. You take. I mainly use this device to relieve my muscle tension in the shoulder blade area (some say wings ;)). If I'm only having trouble in that area, I'll angle it from my side to my neck to below my shoulders and lie on top of it until I hear a thump and hear the muscles relax. Ah, relief. If I get any tension or back problems, I start at the bottom of my spine and roll over (it's easiest to take your shirt off so your shirt doesn't get tangled) to mid-back. With a little practice you can drive it from bottom to top and vice versa. In the beginning, starting from the bottom up to the discomfort and then moving to the base of the neck and working down, this was the approach that got me going and helped me. This is a very useful muscle relaxation tool, especially if you don't have someone to massage you or if you don't want to spend $60 a day three times a week to relax a specific muscle with a deep tissue massage. If you need more backs I have some friends aj/fit 18" high density EVA pads that are really interesting and I think serve a different purpose, more of a general back stretch. I don't have a foam roller, but I do Used a few times and would recommend them too.Looking for a general back stretch.
