I'm not usually a picky phone user, so a lot of the things other users complain about don't bother me. For example. The battery life is quite sufficient, the bezels do not interfere with anything, etc. However, the lack of a fingerprint scanner is unforgivable. I've used every previous Pixel XL phone and fingerprint scanners have become a must-have feature. At this stage, it's imperative to quickly and securely unlock your phone and use it instead of app passwords. While face unlock is a good trick, it is very slow and not reliable enough. Add to that the lack of Face Unlock integration with third-party apps, and we have an underdeveloped feature. While ultimately I have nothing against Face Unlock, it's by no means a replacement for a fingerprint scanner. I certainly wish Google had kept the fingerprint scanner in addition to Face Unlock, and that omission is why I rate the phone so low.
