I also ordered and received the HD3 in black and initially had problems with the battery level. I replaced this and the other HD3 with Panasonic batteries and both work fine, no battery issues. I don't know if this is related to the Panasonic battery or the Ooma firmware update, but both phones no longer have this battery level issue. While everything else about this phone is excellent, it gets 5 stars from me. The screen is clear and bright, the brightness can be adjusted. Speech intelligibility is excellent. The integration with the Ooma phone service is great. Otherwise the phone looks great! You can even adjust the display brightness for a while. I have since ordered a third HD3 as I love how the HD3 works with the Ooma phone service and my Ooma Telo.
