The worst purchase in my life, don't repeat my mistake

For a person over 170 cm tall, it is better to purchase a chair with a higher back and a headrest so that there is something to lean on with the back of the head. After almost a year of use, the base of the rolling mechanism cracked. The chair could be used, but the clang of metal was very disturbing, and there were fears that the mechanism would fall apart altogether. It was replaced under warranty with a brand new one. When replacing, the master noted that the gas lift was leaking a little, but since I use the chair in the lowest position, it was decided not to pay attention to this. A few weeks later, the new mechanism began to creak and become loose. Tilt force adjustment initially practically did not work. Because of this, the chair very briskly overturned into a semi-lying position. In one such sharp transition, something cracked in the back. As it turned out, one of the four metal armrest fasteners that connect the backrest to the seat had separated from the wooden base. More precisely, the chipboard turned around and the metal fasteners simply twisted through the base. It became clear that the chair did not have long to live. However, the back did not fall off, as I expected, but after just a week or two, the rolling mechanism loosened at the end. The place where the gas lift is attached to the mechanism has actually fallen apart, and the gas lift is stuck at an angle in the mechanism. It became impossible to use the chair. The manufacturer specifies a maximum user weight of 120kg. It is scary to imagine what will happen to the chair if a person of this weight will use it (I myself weigh less than 100 kg).

Pros
  • Overall, a pretty comfortable chair. While it is new, it seems that the chair is not even bad.
Cons
  • 1. Wooden (chipboard) base and seats and backs - may crack 2. Unreliable rolling mechanism - creaks, may become unusable 3. Unreliable gas lift - may start to leak 4. The armrests are not very comfortable and the corrugated plastic is not very pleasant to the touch. 5. Poor quality upholstery - pilling, wrinkling 6. Poor quality stuffing - creases, stops restoring its shape
