During installation the dust boot kept falling out so I put it back in and then the caliper and washer fell out. I got tired of fiddling with it and put some padding material in the trunk to keep it in place. Knowing the purpose of the washer and C-clamp should have been a wake-up call. Two weeks later I'm going for a bike ride and it seems very slow and unruly. The rear master blocked where the brake pads just dragged. This ended my day with the rotor and pads smoking. Look at the damage today and it looks like the C-Clip doesn't have a proper groove to sit on. My guess is that the piston got stuck somehow, which keeps it pushing. Of course I was 1 day late with the return and now have to replace the rotor, pads (there are 2 of them) and master cylinder. Due to a bug, a lot of extra money now has to be spent. The worst thing is that I drive on the track. So if the brake got stuck on one of the big jumps, there could have been a serious injury.
