Review on πŸ”’ Secure Your Fuel Supply with Stant Saddle Tank Locking Fuel Cap in Sleek Black by Mike Roe

Poor quality control

I don't normally write negative reviews but this one deserved it. The first one I ordered from Revain Prime came without a key (and I know they didn't get lost in transit as the package was sealed). A few days later a replacement Revain gas cap arrived (from another stock). It arrived with a bent key in a cylinder lock. I decided to try the remaining good key. Two days later I tried to open the gas cap with a working key and it took me about 2 minutes to open it as the key was difficult to fit in the cylinder. Can you imagine how uncomfortable it will be if you are in a hurry to fill up?! At this point I decided to return the second gas cap and receive a full refund. I expect more from a product made in the USA. These gas caps have poor quality control and are nowhere near the size of the original gas caps. I finally decided to spend the extra $15 and ordered another brand also made in the USA with model number FTA-C-13 and it works great and looks like the original but with a lock/key. It fits perfectly in my Freightliner M2's 80 gallon fuel tank. My advice: Spend your extra money on the FTA-C-13 and don't waste your time on the Stant 10412!

Pros
  • Sturdy gas cap with lock for long life.
Cons
  • Very expensive
