Review on ๐ŸŒฅ๏ธ ON Men's Cloudsurfer: Experience the Ultimate Running Cloud by Gary Shakeone

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Small sticks and stones can get stuck between the clouds on the sole. 90% of them move within a few steps.

I am retired with 3 huskies and weather permitting we ride (average 4 days out of 7) through forest roads (mud) and Appalachian Trials in Pennsylvania. a day is 6 miles round trip. I've been wearing Cloudsurers for almost 2 years. These are my favorite shoes for unpaved forest trails. The forest roads in Pa are actually jeep trails with water crossings and rocky sections. These shoes have held up really well, my feet stay cool, they dry quickly after crossing the water, and dry quickly too. Grip has never been an issue with this shoe and it is the best long descent shoe I have. The lacing allows you to adjust the shoe so that your toes don't rub against the front of the shoe on the descents. Appalachian Trail (AT) is another issue, the Cloudsurfer outsole offers great protection from rocks, but the sides of the shoe aren't designed for hitting rocks and you're wearing down the upper. However, the shoe has a sock-like inner layer that prevents your foot from being exposed if the outer layer is punctured. I put a strip of tape between two layers over the hole and continue. If the hike is completely AT, then I wear a different brand and type of shoe. The odd thing about the Cloudsurfer is that the dirt doesn't get into the shoes around my ankles as much as my other shoes. I assume it's the lacing system which provides a snug fit around the ankle without restricting movement. My trekking shoes, when tight, restrict ankle movement, and when the lacing is comfortable, they pick up dirt and debris. On the few kilometers of paved roads we cover each week, these shoes are very comfortable and keep my feet cool again. I have dedicated off-road shoes and a pair, but I've only ridden them a few miles off-road as my feet prefer the Cloudsurfer design.
