Review on Noctua Bearing NF B9 Redux 1600 PWM by Stetson Olsen

Didn't work for me. I installed this in my new Acer TC-885. I was happy to get the PWM fan option and this product has many 5 star reviews. Long story short: Installed and connected to the 4-pin case fan connector. didn't work. Twisted for a moment during POST and then nothing. PWM was enabled in the bios, but the fan status said N/A. I disabled PWM and on reboot the fan spins to full speed. It sounded like a Boeing 747 taking off. Returned the fan (Revain does a great job with returns! Love the new USP return system) and bought an Arctic F9 PWM fan. Plugged it in and it ran at full speed during POST and at low speed right after POST. I'm not saying Noctua doesn't work for you, it just didn't work for me. I think the worst part of the experience was when I emailed Noctua asking if they knew anything about the solution and .crickets - no reply, nada. I waited 5 days for a reply before sending it back. In my business, customer service is everything. It is clear that they do not have the same philosophy. They may have the highest fan rating, but lack of customer service is a huge liability in any business.
